Spotlight
Two Roads to Realization

The Book: Accidental Genius: Using Writing to Generate Your Best Ideas, Insight, and Content, second edition

Why Read It? Author Mark Levy wants to show you how writing can be used to reach a breakthrough in a particular problem or to become unstuck long enough to realize a larger goal.

The Bottom Line: Freewriting is the answer, and it's deceptively simple. You'll be able to think more honestly and resourcefully than ever before, generating breakthrough ideas and solutions. This second edition includes seven new principles, more stories, and an extensive section on how to refine your freewriting into something you can share with the world.

The Book:
Goals! How to Get Everything You Want -- Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible, second edition

Why Read It? Author Brian Tracy won't accept your excuses because he knows (and so will you) that there is a surefire way to set and meet all of your goals.

The Bottom Line: This book explains the key elements of goal setting and the steps  necessary to set and accomplish goals of any size. In this second edition, Tracy has added three new chapters addressing areas in which goals can be the most rewarding, but also the toughest to set and keep: finances, family, and health.

We Recommend
Why is BK partnering on projects with the American Planning Association (APA)? Isn't the APA, like, a bunch of architects and urban planners? Yes, but the APA is not about just planning and building. They also work hard to create sustainable food systems, promote green development, and build healthy  communities (which is why they copublished The Abundant Community with us).

Go ahead, learn more about the APA and get involved.

End Notes

Last time, I issued this challenge. The first correct answer came from Rachel Kador. See the solution here.

This issue's challenge can be found here.

Email me with any comments or rants.  Also, were you amazed by the fact that this man defies every rule of biology?

Were you able to figure out
this weird puzzle? Excellent! But please tell me what this strange site is all about.

P.S. -- this isn't real, is it?
